In the name of God, Amen! I, Henry Allers, of the City and County of Cape Girardeau and State of Missouri, being over the age of twenty on year of sound and disposing mind and memory, but weak and infirm in body and conscious of the uncertainty of this life, do make and publish this as my last will and testament:
1st It is my wish that my funeral expenses and all my just debts should be first paid.
2nd I give and bequeath to my son Charles Allers the sum of One dollar.
3rd I give and bequeath to my son August Allers the sum of One dollar.
4th I give and bequeath to by beloved wife, Sophia Allers, all the rest and residue of my personal estate of whatever kind or character with full powers and authority to sell and dispose of the same, for her own use and benefit as she may see fit.
5th It is my will that if any of said property shall remain on hand and be undisposed of at the time of the death of my said wife, the same shall descend to my two sons, Charles and August, and be divided between them as hereinafter directed:
6th I give and devise to my beloved wife, Sophia Allers all of my real estate situate and being in the County of Cape Girardeau, Missouri with full powers and authority absolutely to sell and convey the same by deed if she shall deem it necessary in orderto process means for her subsistence. But in the event of such sale by my wife, she shall only be entitled absolutely to the sum of Five Hundred dollars ($500) of the proceeds of such sale and the remainder shall be divided among my two sons Charles andAugust as hereinafter directed.
7th It is my will that my said wife should have and hold the said real estate during her natural life, unless she should sell and convey the same an hereinbefore authorized, and that at her death the same, if not alienated by her, should descend to my twosons Charles and August and hereinafter directed.
8th There being a mortgage or deed of trust upon my said real estate now outstanding and in force, it is my wish that in the event of a sale should be made under said mortgage or deed of trust, the surplus, after satisfying said mortgage or deed of trust shall be equally divided between my wife Sophia Allers and my son August Allers.
9th It is my will that the property, real and personal, remaining undispersed of at the death of my said wife and in case of a sale of the real estate by my wife, the excess over and above the sum of five hundred dollars ($500) shall be disposed of as follows: Since my said son Charles received an advancement from me during my lifetime, my son August shall first have the sum of three hundred dollars ($300) before Charles shall be entitled to any part or portion thereof, and the residue shall then be equally divided between them.
