    John was born in Shawneetown, MO to Hugh and Lula Stevenson. John married Grace Englehart in 1933 and moved to Benicia, CA during WWII. They moved to the Central Valley after the war. After Grace's death, John moved to Fruitland, MO and married Evelyn Gilmore in 1987. Evelyn passed away in 2003 and John settled back in Denair, CA. He was a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 55 years. He enjoyed traveling and gardening. He loved spending time with his grandkids.

    He is survived by his children; Donna Stratton of Clearfield, UT, John Stevenson of Sacramento, CA, Don Stevenson of Denair, CA, Roy Stevenson of Holbrook, AZ, Ted Stevenson of Modesto, CA, Tom Stevenson of Denair, CA, Ann Pohl of Woodland, CA, Jerry Stevenson of Rochester, WA, Brother; Robert Stevenson of Florida, Step Children; John Gilmore and Richard Gilmore both of Missouri, fifteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, many Step grandchildren and many step great grandchildren.

    He is preceded in death by his wifes; Grace Englehart-Stevenson and Evelyn Gilmore-Stevenson, brothers; Gladish Stevenson and Meredith Stevenson, and sister Roberta McDowell.

    Mrs John Stevenson

    JACKSON – Mrs. John (Grace C.) Stevenson, of Denair, Calif., died unexpectedly at 4:30 a.m. today Aug, 23, 1985, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gale Seabaugh, Jackson Route 4.

    The Stevensons were visiting relatives in this area, and also were here to attend the annual Fruitland High School Reunion to be held this weekend.

    Mrs. Stevenson, the former Miss Englehart, was born in the Leemon Couunity, a daughter of Phillip and Verna McDowell Englehart. She was 73 years old.

    On March 14, 1923, she was married to Mr. Stevenson, who survives.

    Additional survivors include eight grandchildren and 15 grandchildren.

    The body is at the McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, where funeral arrangements are incomplete.
