    Funeral services were conducted from White's Mortuary, Tuesday afternoon for J. Neily Mann, 66 a native of Watsonville, who died Sunday at the Fairmont Hospital in Oakland.
    Rev. W. L. Mellinger of the Christian Church officiated and Franklyn Colburn was at the organ. Burial was in the family plot in the Pioneer Watstonville Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mack Jones, Lauren Bloom, L.S. Scrivani, George Mann, Peter Storm and C.F. STorm.

    Mann--At the Fairmont Hospital, Oakland, Sunday, July 6, 1941, J. Neily Mann, 66, native of Watsonville. Survived by an aunt, Mrs. Luellen Bloom, and five cousins, Mrs. Mack Jones, Bob Grover, Lee and George Mann all of Watsonville.
    Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from White's Mortuary with Rev. Mellinger officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in the Pioneer Watsonville Cemetery.

    George W. McNeely was born in Cape Girardeau County on February 7, 1836. He is the son of John R. McNeely, a native of North Carolina. The latter was reared in his native State, and was married there to Mary Shuford, who was also a native of North Carolina, born in 1807. After their marriage they immigrated to Missouri, and settled in Cape Girardeau County in 1833. There they entered land and improved a farm, upon which Mrs. McNeely still resides. Although Mr. McNeely was a cooper by trade he managed his farm during his life, and died thereabout 1843. They were the parents of six children, four of whom are living. One son, Archibald, resides in California. The two other sons and the daughter live in Cape Girardeau County. George W. grew to manhood on his father's farm, and in 1858 was united in marriage with Marillus Hale, daughter of Thomas Hale. After his marriage Mr. McNeely rented land for a few years, but located upon the farm where he now resides in 1868, having purchased it two years previously

    OLDEST WOMAN IN PAJARO VALLEY CALLED BY DEATH
    Death of Mrs. Laura McNeely at 82 Years--Crossed Plains in 1852.
    WATSONVILLE. Aug 1. - Mrs. Laura McNeely, who was known as the oldest living pioneer of the Pajaro Valley died suddenly at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C E. Bloom on the Santa Cruze Road at 8:30 o'clock Tuesday evening. Mrs. McNeely had been enjoying good health and her sudden death was a shock to her family and friends. Mrs. McNeely was 82 years of age and crossed the plains with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Williams in 1852, coming direct to this valley. Her father and brother conducted one of the first stores in Watsonville.
    In 1853 she married Archibald McNeely, who preceded her to the grave 20 years ago. One brother, a son Charles, and a daughter, Mrs Bloom survive her. The funeral will take place tomorrow morning at the home of her daughter.
