In November, 1866, the “Marble City News” was established by A. M. Casebolt, who continued its publication, changing its name in 1874 to “Cape Girardeau News”, until 1878, when he sold the office to C. E. Barroll and J. A. Coker. Penny who continued the publication but a short time. In January, 1885, D. L. Hoffman purchased the office and has since been the editor and proprietor. On July 1, 1876, Ben. H.
