| 6202 | Richard Jon Moyer, Rocky went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 24, 2016, in Prescott, Arizona. The greatest blessing was his daughter, Dusty at his side. Richard was born in Ironton, Missouri on April 23 1956, to Helen and Harold Moyer. He was raised in both Missouri and Utah and finally moved to Prescott, Arizona with his father in the early 1970’s. He attended and graduated from Prescott High School in the Class of 75 where he met and later married his wife, Dawn Ellen Mishler. Dawn and Rich had a fantastic and blessed life together of 44 years. Together having ten children---raising six kids with four already in heaven, who are now united with their dad. Richard’s work career was extensive and varied even allowing him to travel throughout the United States. Starting as a cook with his dad at the Hour Place on White Spar Road, this began his lifelong love for cooking. He continued amazing everyone with his culinary skills throughout his life. Everyone who knew Rich knew of his barbeque and chili that brought smiles to all. He and Dawn ran the Skull Valley Cafe prior to being married. Early in their marriage he began his career at U.S. Motors in Prescott prior to its closing then on to Magney Electric (now known as Exodyne Electric) in Tempe. He also spent a considerable amount of time volunteering and working for Sterling Ranch in Skull Valley, Arizona. Richard loved working with the ladies and Johnny especially helping with Special Olympics, this was definitely a huge blessing for him. He then took a job in Lubbock, Texas working for Global Pumps, Inc. Finally, finishing his long working career at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, in Engineering. Rich was known for many kindnesses to family, friends and even strangers. Rich was the perfect example of an opportunist – always looking for opportunities to help anyone in need. He will be sorely missed by the many that were touched by him through meals, cars fixed, wood chopped the list goes on. In his spare time he loved to build and work with his hands. Richard loved animals and the outdoors. His first love and priority was God and his family. He was the greatest husband and father ever. We miss him so much. Richard is survived by his wife, Dawn; daughters, Dusty Ray Lingle and son-in-law, Dave; Michaela Grace and Shelby Debra; sons; Shawn Daniel, Michael Avery and Daniel Jacob. All claiming to be the favorite. There will be a graveside service for Richard at the Skull Valley Cemetery on Saturday, January 14 at 1:00 p.m. Friends are welcome. | 6204 | Richard Pingilley: Abigail came to Iron Co. when her brother Campbell migrated there circa 1855. From Audra Genna 5/21/00: Hi! I just received your email. I am almost certain that your great grandmother Abigail Johnson is the sister of my great grandfather Campbell Johnson. My great grandfather Campbell Johnson was born March 1834 in floyd county Kentucky. He had a older sister Elizabeth Johnson born in Virginia and a older brother born in Virginia. Elizabeth married William Riley Mead aug. 08, 1841 in Floyd County, Kentucky. Elizabeth and her husband and children John & his wife mary and my great grandfather Campbell came to Reynolds County, Mo about 1855. On June 29, 1860 Campbell married Charlotte Hannah in Iron County. I have reason to beleive that Ruth Trout and Edward Johnson are the parents of my great grandfather. I had contact with a man from Illinois and in his notes Christian Trout & Mary elizabeth Gearhart are the parents of Ruth Trout. and in these notes was my Aunt Elizabeth Johnson and her husband William Riley Mead and their daughter Rossanah Mead that married James K. Polk Randolph, he also listed Ruth Trouts brothers and sisters and their spouses. and their children but they didn't know who Ruth & Edwards children were. I contacted Cathy Hamilton from floyd county Kentucky for a 1850 look up on a Ruth or edward Johnson and she found Ruth Johnson the 1850 Floyd County Census with her children. Ruth Johnson 47 VA Sarah 19Ky Campbell 16 Ky Jackson 14 Letta 12 Ky Abigail 10 Ky Paralee 8 Ky William 21 Ky Mahala 21 Ky So I am almost certain I have found great grandfather Campbell's parents plus his siblings. My grandfather was named Edward Jackson Johnson. Let me know what you think or if you find anything. My great grandfather died in Reynolds county, Mo and is buried in Iron County, mo in the rutter Cemetery. From Rich Pingilly 3/28/00: I also had read that Abigail Johnson was from Pike Co. and had found the seven-year-old daughter of Bailey and Rebecca Johnson on the 1850 Pike County census. Since she is still there on the 1860 census (ours was in Iron Co. and married in 1860) AND since this Abigail married Jefferson Johnson, I was confused. Then I read a GenForum entry about a Campbell Johnson who came to Iron Co. around 1855 from KY and my interest was piqued since our Abigail was from KY and married in 1857. I then found the Johnsons on the 1850 Floyd Co., KY census. Ruth Johnson 47 VA Sarah 19 KY Campbell 16 KY Jackson 14 KY Letta 12 KY Abigail 10 KY (ours was born 4 Feb. 1840) Parallee 8 KY William 21 KY Mahala 21 KY Edward had died between 1843 (last land entry) and 1847 (Ruth Johnson mentioned alone in father's will--other children mentioned with spouse). I don't know if Ruth came with Campbell and Abigail to Iron Co. or not. Campbell married in Iron Co. in 1860 and Abigail in 1857. Mud Creek, where Edward owned land, is just inside the Floyd Co. line. The Johnsons had dealings in Pike Co. since Ruth's parents lived in Pike Co. and John (Edward and Ruth's oldest son) married in Pike Co. Rich | Johnson, Abigail (78636248)

| 6297 | SAM A. THOMPSON, M. D. For fifteen years a practicing physician and surgeon in Southern Illinois and since June, 1911, a resident of Mount Vernon, Dr. Thompson is a wholesale example of what may be accomplished by a man in the way of advancement when he is the possessor of a legitimate ambition, with the determination and ability to supplement that ambition. Beginning life with merely a common school education, Dr. Thompson when a boy of sixteen began to work with the intention of ultimatelycontinuing his studies as a result of his labors, to the end that he might later become a member of that profession to which he aspired, and whose ranks he has graced through fifteen years of careful and efficient service. Sam A. Thompson, M. D., was born on February 5, 1869, in Caledonia, Minnesota. He is the son of J. R. Thompson, a native of Missouri, who migrated to Minnesota. In his earlier life J. R. Thompson was a steamboat captain, but in 1873 he engaged in the wholesale grocery business. He later removed to Sioux City, Iowa, but now resides in Louisiana, Missouri, where he is again engaged in the steamboat business. Together with a company of other men in Louisiana, Missouri, he is the owner of a line of riversteamers, and they are conducting a thriving business in that line of industry. Mr. Thompson served in the Union army as captain of a. company which he raised for the service, and did valiant duty for the cause during the period of his enlistment. J. R. Thompson married Maggie E. Damron, of Missouri, a daughter of James and Maggie (Thurman) Damron, of Virginia. She was a cousin of Allen G. Thurman, one-time candidate for the vice-presidency. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson reared five children, all of whom are living. They are Harry L., in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Myrtie E. Moore, living in Grand Junction, Colorado; Sam A., of this sketch; Claude D., of Colon, Panama; and Maud J. Sam A. Thompson was a regular attendant of the public schools of Sioux City, Iowa, in which city he was reared. When he was sixteen years of age he left school and secured employment in a retail store in Sioux City, remaining there for some little time. His next move took him to Austin, Texas, where he was employed as traveling salesman for a wholesale dry goods firm, being thus occupied for the space of three years. In 1893 he had accumulated sufficient money from his labors of the previous years to permit him to enter Barnes Medical College in St. Louis, and there he completed the studies he had been conducting through several years past, graduating from that institution in April, 1897, with his well earned degree of M. D. The young doctor began practice immediately, settling in Ina, Jefferson county, and remaining there for fourteen years, where he built up a wide general practice and made a host of warm and admiring friends the while. In April, 1902, was solemnized the marriage of Dr. Thompson with Mary C. Berger, of Jefferson county, but born and reared in Menard county. Three children have been born to them. They are Louis, aged seven years; Henry, five years old; and Margaret, who came to them one year ago. In June, 1911, Dr. Thompson came to Mount Vernon and opened an office in the hospital consultation rooms. In the brief time of his location here Dr. Thompson has become well and favorably known among the profession, and is identified with the foremost people of the city in numerous ways. He has become the owner of two valuable farms of one hundred and twenty acres each near Springfield, Illinois, and is a director of one of the Ina banks. He has been identified with Masonry for a number of years and has attained to the thirty-second degree in that fraternity. He is a member of the Blue Lodge of Ewing, the Chapter of Mount Vernon and the Oriental Consistory of Chicago. | Thompson, Samuel A. (56532188)
