David's will:
In the name of God Amen. I David McNeely of the County of Iredell and state of North Carolina being in perfect health of body and mind do make and publish this my Last Will
and Testament. The manner following.
I GIVE and bequeath unto ELIZABETH my wife
her living of the lands I now own and Igive her all the household and Kitchen furniture to be divided among my children as She may think proper with her horse and Saddle and I give her the the use of all my Negroes during her life and then to be divided as follows
To my SON JAMES EPHRAIM I give my Black boy Lowes/Lewis (mm) at the death of his mother and what is called his meadow.
To my daughter JANE I give her or her heirs my black Girl Mary An at the death of her mother and Igive all the lands that Ihave to my son BILLEY and my black woman Lise and my black man Sandy and my black boy Jack and my black boy Hiram at the death of his mother by him living(sp?) to her and Igive to my Daughter LUCASE my black boy Jo at the death of his mother and I also give to BILLY all my Stock my wagon and Gearkind all my farming tools of all sorts also my Shop tools by him paying to my grand sons DAVID ten dollars when he comes of age.
I do hereby appoint my son BILLY to be my executor of this my last will and Testament in witness whereof Ihave hereunto set my hand and seal this II day of January eighteen hundred and fifty one. Signed sealed
