Beloved husband of Mary Helen (nee Stevenson); loving father of Cheryl (Steve) Petracek-Harre, Margo Petracek (Stephen) Murphy, Vince (Theresa) Petracek, Jack (Cynthia) Petracek, and Pepi-Jo (Debbie Allison) Petracek.
Beloved grandfather of Danyelle, Dayna, Morgan, Lindsay, Chris, Josh, and Mike; dear brother of Mavis Wulf, Virginia DeFreese and the late Milo Petracek.
Robert was a veteran of World War II where he served in the 71st Infantry. He also served in the Korean War.
After his military service he worked as a social worker. In his career he was the Executive Director of the Lake Bluff Children's Home in Lake Bluff, IL. Later he became the Executive Director of the Methodist Children's Home here in St. Louis.
Robert was an active member of the Webster Groves Kiwanis Club for over thirty years and was past president.
