She died Thursday (Oct. 23) at Harmony House, Waterloo. She was born Sept. 25, 1896, in Alta Vista, daughter of Ernst and Augusta Schmidt Glienke. She married Clair W. De Neut April 30, 1917, in Sioux Falls, S.D. He died November 1968. She was a former owner of a restaurant in La Porte City. Survivors include three sons, Richard E. of La Porte City, Jean H. of St. Anthony, Idaho, and Jack E. of Lebanon, Mo.; a daughter, Merle J. Carlisle of La Porte City; a sister, Betty Myhre of Galesville, Wis.; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Friends may call at Huisman Funeral Home 9 a.m. to noon today.
