- Warren Corbett West, 88, Jefferson City, died Jan. 16, 2003, at Capital Region Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 1, 1914, in Meta, a son of Roy and Angie Pointer West. He was married in 1939, in Meta, to Lucille Helton. He was married in 1949, in Jefferson City, to Stella Porterfield. He was married Jan. 24, 1999, in Tebbetts, to Wanda Mae Floyd, who survives at the home.
He attended Meta schools and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He worked as an insurance agent for National Life and Accident Insurance Co. and worked for Kroeger Company. He was a member of Tebbetts United Methodist Church and the Tebbetts Lodge 565 A.F. & A.M.
Other survivors include: one son, Garry W. West, Comfort, Texas; two brothers, Clarence West, Collinsville, Ill., and Leonard West, St. Louis; one sister, Odella Slaughter, Eugene; and two grandchildren.
One son, Warren S. West, preceded him in death.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Buescher Memorial Home. The Rev. Larry Sapp will officiate. Burial will be in the Southside Cemetery, Meta, with military honors.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today with Masonic services at 7 p.m.
Memorials are suggested to Tebbetts United Methodist Church.
