- Vibert Melvin Jackson, age 82, of Gravois Mills, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2004 at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach.
He was born May 28, 1921 in Reynolds County, Missouri, the son of Samuel Webb and Rose Trent Jackson. He was united in marriage on August 17, 1947 in Van Buren, Missouri with Imogene Potts.
Mr. Jackson was a retired self-employed lumberman and truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and member of the First Baptist Church in Gravois Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Imogene Jackson of the home; three daughters, Jacqueline Lampkins and husband David, of Laurie, Missouri, Teresa Jean Null and husband Dennis, of St. Peters, Missouri, and Tracy Rene Glenn and husband George, of Maumelle, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, and eight brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, February 19, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles, with Rev. Mike Cronk officiating. Graveside services with military honors will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Green Lawn Cemetery in Mountain View, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
