Born Jan. 29, 1962 in Long Beach, CA, lost her long courageous battle with cancer on Apr. 20, 2010. Cindy is survived by her mother Norma Byrd; father Don Byrd; sister Terri Byrd; nephews, Aric and Sean Lehr; brother-in-law Jorge Lehr; stepmom LaVaughn Wilson; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Cindy will be remembered for her ability to make people laugh and her determination to see that everything was done her way. Her greatest accomplishment was building her own home through a sweat equity program that took her a year while holding down a full time job at Rite Aid for which she never missed a day of work while doing so. Cindy has several loyal friends from Ponderosa High School, as well as from her 25-plus years of work at Rite Aid. Placerville has been her home for 40 years. Cindy was the best daughter, sister, and auntie anyone could ask for and we will all miss her smile greatly. At her request, there will be no memorial service; however, a BBQ celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 8 at Cameron Park Lake between 2-5pm. Park entrance fee of $2-5 will be required but reimbursement will be provided. You may want to bring your own chairs. Donations may be made in her honor to Snowline Hospice in Placerville, CA.
