- Page 205 Will book Aor BRowan County, NC May Court 1775. "In the name of God Amen. This twenty Eight day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy four,
I ISAAC McNEELEY of Rowan County in the province of North Carolina being at the present sick and verie weake of body but of sound and dispoising mind and memory Thanks be given to God therfore calling into mind the mortality of my body and that it is appointed for all men once to die do
make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament.
That is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend soul to almighty God gate it and for my body I recommend it to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my Executor, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again reunited to my soul by the might power of God
and as touching such worldly estate wherewith it it hath pleased God to bless me in this life; I do give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and forever.
FIRST: It is my will and I do order that all and singular my just debts and funeral charges be paid ans satisfied.
SECONDLY: I give and bequeth unto my well beloved brother ARCHEBELL McNEELEY the sum of Thirteen pounds four shillings.
THIRDLY: I give and bequeat unto my well beloved (brother mlm) JAMES McNEELEY the sum of thirteen pounds four Shillings.
FOURTHLY: I give and bequeath unto my will beloved brother in law JAMES HUGHES (James married Margaret McNeely in PA mlm) the sum of thirteen pounds [four] Shillings and likewise my blue suit of Cloths and New Buckskin Britches.
5THLY: I give and bequeath unto my well beloved brother JOHN McNEELEY my Stout Coak(sp?).
6THLY: It is my will and I do order that my Carpenter and joiner tools be sold and the money thence arising be equaly divided amongst my three BROTHERS VIZ. ARCHD McNEELEY, JAMES McNEELY, AND JAMES HUGHS AND LASTLY: I Do ordain and appoint my Trusty Brother JOHN McKNEELEY and ARCHEBELL McNEELEY to be my Executors of this my last will and testament and I do hereby disalow, revoke and disannull all and every other forever testament wills legacies and executors in any ways before
this time. Named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will
and testament. In witness, whereof Ihave hereunto set my hand and seal the day and years aforesaid.
Signed sealed published pronounced and declared by the said ISAAC McNEELEY as his last Will
and Testament in the presents of us the subscribers viz. Thomas (his mark) Bell, Thomas
Thompson. s/ISAAC McNEELY.
