- Cunningham, Frank Eugene Gene, age 89 formerly of St. Ann, MO, passed away peacefully at his daughter’s home in House Springs on Thursday, February 16, 2017. He was born on Thursday, May 12, 1927 in McClure, IL, the son of the late Frank W. and Maggie L. (nee Glaab) Cunningham.
He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy M. Cunningham (nee Lewis); loving father of Margaret (Ray) Zesch; dear grandfather of Darren (Gail) Zesch and Reneé (Steve) Banes Zesch; dear great-grandfather of Bailey Elias, Zac Elias, Zander Banes and Nathan Zesch; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, neighbor and friend.
Gene honorably served his country in the Navy during WWII and was a longtime member of Gateway Church of the Nazarene. He worked as a union meat cutter through Local #88 and enjoyed making custom bird houses.
Services: Visitation at SHEPARD FUNERAL CHAPEL, 9255 Natural Bridge Rd. at I-170, St. Louis, MO (314-426-6000) on Wednesday, February 22 from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 12:00 noon. Burial with Military Honors follows at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, MO.
