- Herbert J. AuBuchon was born in Bonne Terre on January 2, 1896, the son of Basil and Sarah Cunningham AuBuchon. Mr. AuBuchon served 5-1/2 years in World War I, all of which was spent in the Philippines and Siberia, Russia as bugler.
He was married in May, 1935 to Miss Hulda Sisk, of Desloge, and to this union God gave one son, Dickie Joe. Mr. AuBuchon was pensioned by St. Joseph Lead Co. in June 1954 because of poor health and for the past six months he had been confined to his bed until his death at Deaconess Hospital on September 5, 1955. He joined the Desloge Methodist Church in 1950, and was also a member of V.F.W. Post 2426.
Besides his heartbroken wife and small son, he leaves his mother, Mrs. B. J. AuBuchon, three brothers, John of Cazadero, Calif., Eugene of Ellwood City, Pa., and Arthur of Bonne Terre; four sisters, Mrs. P. N. McKeon, Mrs. Emma Smith and Miss Genevieve AuBuchon of Farmington and Bessie (Mrs. Earl) Barton, Wyandotte, Mich., other relatives and friends.
His funeral was held at Desloge Methodist Church, conducted by his minister, Rev. W. V. Gastian, assisted by Rev. L. L. Johnston of Bonne Terre. Interment in St. Francois Memorial Park. C. Z. Boyer & Son service. Military rites were conducted at the graveside by V.F.W. Post 2426.
