He was a World War II Army veteran. Survivors include a daughter, Sarah Anderson, Dubuque, Iowa; sons John T. Pingilley, Bettendorf, and Thomas Pingilley, Ottumwa, Iowa; 5 grandchildren; his mother, Lena Pingilley, East Detroit, Michigan; sisters, Maxine, Wilma, Doris, Merle, Burl, Pat and Lois; and brothers, Caree and Don.
