Margaret Elizabeth Damron was born at Paynesville, Pike county, MO, and died at Desoto, MO August 18, 1906, aged 66 years, 4 months, and 22 days. She was married to John Riley Thompson at Benton, Wisconsin, August 1860 and became a mother of five children, Mrs. Myrtle P. Moore, Harry L., Samuel A., Claud D., and Maud J., who with her husband are left to mourn her death. April 17, 1905, she met with an accident in Louisiana MO from which she never recovered. While out driving in a buggy with her husband a team that was running away ran over them injuring her seriously. She was a devoted Christian, loved to work in the church, and died in hope of a better life. The remains were brought to Elsberry, Sunday morning, August 19, and taken to the home of her cousin, Mrs. R.E. Black where in the afternoon funeral services were conducted by the writer and the remains laid to rest in the Elsberry cemetery. E. W. Reynolds
