- Hiram Fleming married Jane Stevenson (dau of Capt. James & Sarah) in Perry
County, January 10, 1837. He lived on what was known as the "Fleming Place" on
Shawnee Creek in the Henderson neighborhood. He ran a retail dry goods store at
this place on Shawnee Creek; afterwards moved to Jackson and there engaged in the same business; died at Jackson quite a while before the Civil War.
