- Henry August Brinkman. 67 years of age, died at St Mary's hospital in Jefferson City Thursday morning, March 13. His health began to fail about a year ago and steadily grew worse until his condition grew worse and he was taken to the hospital on Monday before his death.
Mr. Brinkman, son of Fritz Brinkman, was born Oct. 12, 1873 at Mt. Sterling where he spent his boyhood.
He was married to Miss Johanna Laubert of Mt. Sterling Dec. 20,1900 and to this union were born five children - three sons and two daughters. On March 22, 1915 his wife died leaving him with the five children, the youngest, Elvin, only five months old.
On May 16. 1918 he was married to Hannah Hilkerbaumer of Charlotte. This union was blessed with one son.
Mr. Brinkrnan was a member of the Methodist church at Mt Sterling but attended the Salem Presbyterian church of Hope since he moved to the present family home near Pershing in 1915. He is survived by his wife, four sons, Clarence Brinkman, Alfred Brinkman, Victor Brinkman and Francis Brinkman, a stepson, Harvey Hilkertaurner all of Pershing; and two daughters, Mrs. Martin Noltenameyer of Pershing and Miss Elvin Brinkman of St. Louis; his stepmother, Mrs. Louise Brinkman, seven grandchildren, five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services were conducted from the family home Sunday afternoon to the Salem Presbyterian Church with the pastor, the Rev. H.T. Deters officiating.
Pallbearers were John Laubert, Christ Schaeperkoetter, George Hilkerbaumer, George and Elmer Brinkman and Edward Pasch. Flower bearers were Eugene and Gladys Brinkman, Marcus Noltensrneyer, Marvin Brinkman, Fern Schaeperkoetter, Opal Landwehr, Darwin Brinkman, Eunice Laubert, Orwfie Brinkman, Margaret Noltensmeyer, Joyce Brinkman and Norma June Laubert. Burial was there under direction of Morton Funeral Service.
