Kenneth Louis Brooks, 68, of Huntsville passed away Wednesday. A member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a civil servant of 33 years, Mr. Brooks was a division chief and member of the Society of Logistical Engineers. He served his country with the U.S. Army and transferred to Redstone Arsenal, where he met his wife Jo Ann. He enjoyed UAH hockey, was an active UAH alumni and enjoyed fishing and golf. Survivors include his wife of 48 years Jo Ann; daughters, Lynn Brooks and fiance Jon Newby of Huntsville, and Beverly White and husband Tommy of Union Grove; grandchildren, Ryan Patterson, Dustin Berry and wife Lisa, Tom White and Rebecca White; and several nieces and nephews

Marilynn Eugenia Brooks Melton, 71 passed away March 24, 2014 after an extended hospital stay due to a automobile accident in Georgia. Born to Eugenia Marilynn Lovelace Brooks and Louis Eugene (L.E.) Brooks, Marilynn lived in Advance Missouri and was a member of Advance United Methodist Church. Surviving are sons Douglas Eugene Melton of Advance and James Edward Melton of Greenville, SC. She was divorced and never remarried.
