James Andrew Ruble, son of William and Hepsia Ruble, was born May 25, 1875, at Vulcan, Mo., and departed this life November 8, 1948, at Annapolis, Mo., at the age of 73 years, 5 months and 14 days.
At an early age he was united in marriage to Minnie Chilton. To this union two children were born. The wife and children preceeded him in death.
He was again united in marriage to Nellie McCormick, January 3, 1903, and to this union were born eight children, three of whom preceeded him in death.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, four sons, Avery of Annapolis; Olin, of Vulcan; Glen, of St. Louis; Mollis, of Ozark, Alabama; and one
daughter, Mrs. Hazel King, of Elvins; nine grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Lizzie Clifford, and one brother. Tom Ruble, both of Vulcan, and a host of
other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He professed a hope in Christ several years ago. He was an invalid for several years and bedfast for five years. He was patient and faithful in his
suffering, always looking forward to the time when he would be released from the pain and suffering here. He was a faithful husband and father and a place is vacant in our home which never can be filled, but we know our loss is his gain so we will try to look on the bright side and there will be no more sorrow and pain, so 'We cannot say, and we will not say, that he is dead, he is just away."

OBITUARY
MAUDE BELLE SUTTON
Funeral services for Mrs. Maud Belle Sutton, an 85-year-old resident of
Annapolis who died Saturday, Jan. 11, at Arcadia Valley Hospital were held
Sunday afternoon, Jan. 12, at the Annapolis Presbyterian Church. Burial was in
the Sutton Cemetery at Vulcan. Rev. C.J. Casteel of Annapolis officiated at
the services.
Mrs. Sutton was born June 14, 1900, in Vulcan, and she had resided in Iron
County all her life. She was a leaber of the Annapolis Presbyterian Church and
a homemaker.
On Jan. 1, 1916, she married Perry Sutton, who died March 20, 1975.
Survivors include one son, Eugene Earl Sutton of St. Louis, and one
brother, Raymond Clifford of Redwood City, Calif.
White Funeral Hoae was in charge of arrangements.

OBITUARY
RUBY N. LEWIS
Ruby Nellie Lewis, daughter of Jaies and Elizabeth Ruble Clifford, was
born in Vulcan on June 3, 1910 and died in the Arcadia Valley Hospital in
Pilot Knob, Sept. 24, 1983 at the age of 73 years, three months and 21 days.
On May 26, 1936 she was united in marriage to Ralph Lewis, who survives.
Also surviving are one brother, Raymond Clifford of California, one
sister, Maude Sutton, Annapolis, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host
of friends.
An infant daughter preceded her in death.
The funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Septeeber 26 in the Gish-Bowles & Coder
Chapel in Piediont. Rev. Lester Dale officiated. The Mt. Zion General Baptist
Church choir sang. Marjorie J. Bowles, pianist.
Pallbearers included Emory Funk, James Funk, Jack Mann, Mainus Funk,
Luther Mann and Edward Funk. Burial was in the Sutton Ceietery.

Funeral services for Ruby Nellie Lewis were held Monday, September 26,
at Gish-Bowles and Coder Funeral Chapel in Piediont, with burial in the Sutton

Mrs. Lewis died Saturday, Septeeber 24, at the Arcadia Valley Hospital

James Avery Ruble, a 73 year old conservation worker died Monday in Sullivan. He was born Nov. 29, 1903 in Vulcan. Mr. Ruble was married to the former Myrtle Lewis. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
He is survived by his widow; a son, James Ruble of Sullivan; a daughter, Helen Brown of Sullivan and five grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. in the Vulcan Assembly of God Church. Burial will be in the Sutton Cemetery at Annapolis.

James Adrian Ruble, affectionately known as Jim, was born on September 8, 1935, in Vulcan, Missouri. He married Irene Dillingham on February 11, 1956 in Des Arc, MO. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, a dedicated community servant, and a man of strong faith.

Jim was a proud graduate of Annapolis High School. His dedication to service led him to join the United States Air Force in 1953, where he served as an Airman First Class until 1957. Stationed in San Antonio, Texas, and Reykjavik, Iceland, Jim served his country with distinction. Following his honorable discharge, he joined the Meramec Mining Company, where he worked from 1958 to 1970. His commitment to worker safety eventually led him to a career with the US Department of Labor, Mine Safety and Health Administration, where he worked as a Federal Mine Inspector from 1970 until his retirement in 1996.

Jim's commitment to his community was evident in his involvement with various organizations. He served as a member of the Sullivan Volunteer Fire Department for 21 years and helped form an Auxiliary Police Force, where he was the first Captain. He was also a member of the Jaycees, the Masonic Lodge, and the Sons of the American Revolution. He served on the Board of Directors for the Harney Mansion, the Sullivan Planning and Zoning Commission, and as the President of Sullivan Homes, Inc. for 28 years.

A man of deep faith, Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church since 1959. His faith guided him throughout his life and was a source of strength and inspiration for his family and those who knew him.

Jim had a passion for restoring cars, particularly his 1941 Chevy, which won several awards. He had a keen interest in Civil War history and family genealogy, Jim carried a deep appreciation and love for his birthplace, Vulcan, Missouri, and his family. He was dedicated to caring for his mother after his father's passing, earning him the affectionate nickname "my boy" from his mother.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years, Irene Ruble of Sullivan, Missouri; three children: Alan Ruble and wife Donna of Hannibal, Missouri, Beverly Gable and husband Bill of Ajijic, Mexico and Sandy Stoltzfus of Glenwood Springs, Colorado; nine grandchildren: Josh Thomas, Zack Thomas and wife Christy, Racheal Chicoine and husband Jathan, Rusty Ruble, Bryan Ruble and wife Jennifer, Ashley Mays and fiancé Austin Harris, Taylor Mays, Emma Stoltzfus, and Skyler Barnes and husband Ricky; eight great-grandchildren: Elliott, Liam, Azlon, Kael, Adalyn, Mirai, Oliver and William; a sister, Helen Crombie of Sullivan, MO; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Avery and Myrtle Ruble.

A Remembrance Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Sullivan with Pastor Chester Lahmann officiating.

Visitation will be 9 – 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2023 at the First Baptist Church of Sullivan, prior to the memorial service.
