President Taft's Speech in Cape Girardeau October 26, 1909.
Here is the transcript of his speech from the steps of Academic Hall early that Tuesday morning. The Library of Congress recently posted the digitized papers of President Taft on their website. I had last looked there a couple of years ago.
The "gentleman who is larger than I am" is referring to my Great-Grandfather, Edward Regenhardt.
